Geography
At Halterworth, we are determined that all children will become highly competent Geographers, with an excellent understanding of the world around them, equipped with essential life skills, that will allow them to engage with, and enjoy their local and global community.
As a school, we are dedicated to encouraging children to be passionate about the world they live in, both on a local and international scale. We ensure that the Geography curriculum is relevant and of interest to them.
At Halterworth, our Geography curriculum challenges and supports pupils, enabling them to thrive in a modern, multicultural world. Children at Halterworth live comfortably with difference and express their views with curtesy, whilst respecting the views of others.
Children are encouraged to self-evaluate their success and recognise the responsibility that they have for securing concepts and skills, allowing them to be active Global Citizens. We encourage children to think deeply about geographical questions, to be confident and reflective, and to encourage them to look beyond their own perspective and appreciate those of others.
