Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to Halterworth Primary School. Halterworth is a special school where individuals are valued and helped to become the best version of themselves. Through our values of curiosity, innovation, excellence and respect, we support our young people to become confident and independent young people who thrive on challenge and who are motivated to learn.
You are all too aware as parents, how curious children are about the world around them. Our job as educators is to ensure we nurture this curiosity and engage children in learning that is interesting and relevant to their lives and the world within which they live.
We want our children to look back on their time at primary school fondly, remembering how fun their years at Halterworth were, but also understanding how what they learnt in primary school, both academically and socially, influenced the young people they went on to become.
I am extremely proud to lead a team that is committed to not only achieving high standards but sees the vital importance of children's welfare. At Halterworth we have high aspirations for all of our children but underpinning this is the importance of each child's wellbeing - children can not attain unless they first feel safe, happy and valued. Our aim is to always consider the complete child by providing a curriculum that allows children to develop academic, sporting, artistic and inter-personal skills. This means a crucial part of our work is to get to know our children as individuals and support their differing needs, enabling them to experience success.
We are very lucky to be part of the University of Winchester Academy Trust. This gives us unique access to facilities and expertise in a wide range of subject areas through the university and the opportunity to work closely with other local schools.
We hope our website gives you a flavour for who we are as a school but if you would like to know more, please contact the school office to arrange a visit.
